ANTM's Christian Room

One of the coolest things that you will find in ANTM is the house where the models will stay during the whole show. They have unique themes every cycle and are designed to be suitable for every aspiring top model.

If you will remember, there is a room in one of the lofts that is considered to be the Christian room. This was in Cycle 1 wherein one room is occupied by all Christian contestants like Shannon, Robin and Kesse. The room was called the Milan Room.

Just in case you don’t remember these contestants, Kesse was the one who has a large resemblance with Tyra Banks. Shannon and Robin were known for refusing to pose nude towards the last cycles. Robin was eliminated because of refusing the nude photoshoot but shook her breast in front of Jay Manuel.

Record Updates

Let’s update the ANTM records.

Jaslene Gonzalez of Cycle 8

This very first Latina ANTM winner has successfully returned from Cycle 7 to Cycle 8. She was a sure competition right from the beginning after getting top photos for two consecutive weeks. And she tied the record of having no appearances at the bottom two and winning the title in the end.

Anya Kop or Anya Rozova of Cycle 10

Born in Russia, this Hawaii-based ANTM contestant proved to have “fierceness” behind her bubbly personality. By having her edgy and high-fashion appeal, she was able to get five first call outs and tied with Joanie's record in the past. Aside from this, she had never been a part of the bottom two

Mckey Sullivan of Cycle 11

Having a good height, body proportions and openness to criticisms, Mckey was able to take good pictures that didn’t cause her to land at the bottom two in the cycle. Throughout the competition, you will see how she started from just doing a boxing stance on her first photoshoot then finally getting her signature pose and learned the angles of her body to create high fashion poses for the win.

Nicole Fox of Cycle 13

Having a quiet personality, other contestants didn’t really see Nicole as their competition… until she struck that pose for their first photoshoot. She has proven that she has what it takes as she took stunning photos that kept her from being on the bottom two and winning the competition. Aside from not being at the bottom two, it’s also noticeable that she has not been at the bottom half during call outs (as what Jennifer An has also stated on the show). The lowest rank that she obtained was being in rank four on their photoshoots with head wraps since the Cirque de Soleil shoot first call out was for the best group photo, giving her the third rank.

Krista White of Cycle 14

She made it clear that she is in the competition to win after landing a spot on ANTM. She tried out for the competition after the first cycle and made the 14th cycle her charm. At the competition, she didn’t land in the bottom two and even breaking the past record for consecutive call outs. In cycle 6, Joanie got three consecutive first call outs but Krista surpassed it by getting four of them. Looks like four is really her charm as she was 24 years old when she entered ANTM’s 14th cycle, got four consecutive first callouts and winning the competition.

Joanie Dodds: ANTM Record Setter

Of course, viewers know that ANTM is a show that discovers the next top model for the fashion industry. But it is true that top model contestants may set different records within the competition like having the best photos and others. And when it comes to different ANTM statistics, Joanie Dodds of Cycle 6 was a record setter in three ANTM stats. Although you may have known these records, I’ll recap it anyway as a precursor for current statistics update.

First, she was the first model who didn’t make any appearance at the bottom two throughout the cycle except for the final two along side with Danielle.

Second, had set the record for the highest number of consecutive first call outs. She was called first for three consecutive weeks because of her strong photos. You will see the photos below.

Third, she had the record for the most number of first call outs on the cycle after being called first five times for the following photos.

Krumping Photo – Episode 7

Doll photo and crying beauty shot – Episode 8

Thailand photoshoot with an elephant – Episode 11

Swimwear photoshoot in Phuket – Episode 12

CoverGirl Photo – Episode 13

But of course, ANTM already had 14 cycles so other contestants have already tied or broke these records and even set a record of their own. Updates on these records will be posted on the next blog posts.

CoverGirl of the Cycle.

If you have watched all 14 cycles of ANTM, you may have seen the contest CoverGirl of the Week. This gave the viewers the chance to vote online for their favorite CoverGirl for the week. This contest started when CoverGirl cosmetics became the campaign provider for the ANTM winner in cycle 3 and lasted until cycle 10.

There are many contestants who have already won this contest several times throughout the cycles. But there is one special girl who won all contest weeks in the cycle. She is Naima Mora of cycle 4.

I checked online and found out that other cycles may have two or three winners of CoverGirl of the Week on the entire cycle but it is different for cycle 4 since Naima retained the title.

Naima is known for her edgy Mohawk hairstyle, who in the end won the ANTM title and proved that she is a real CoverGirl.

By winning the contests throughout the cycle, I call her not only a CoverGirl of the Week but CoverGirl of the Cycle.

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall, Who's the Youngest of Them All

Several days have passed since I last wrote on this blog. Aside from being busy with work, I was also thinking of the best topic that I can write about this show. Then my imaginary light bulb finally lit up.

If you have been watching ANTM for several cycles, you may have heard at least one time on the show about “being too old” to be in the modeling industry. And as I rerun Cycle 6 last night while working, I remembered this age thing and thought of writing about it. But instead of emphasizing on old age, why not talk about young age.

The question: who is the youngest top model winner?

Then I remembered that I saw Nicole Fox’s age the other day when I rerun Cycle 13. She was 18 years old during the cycle. I did some research on the age of the other Top Model Winners just to be sure of this record since I was also thinking of McKey Sullivan of cycle 11 as among the youngest. Well, McKey was 19 when she won in cycle 11.

Ergo, Nicole Fox of cycle 13 is the youngest winner of America’s Next Top model. The first 18-year-old winner in the Top Model history.

Nicole is the winner of ANTM's petite cycle. She has been known for her fierce poses, which made her portfolio among the strongest ones in the show, and signature walk during the final runway. Recently, she opened the Anna Sui fashion show, which served as cycle 14’s final runway. Again, she worked that runway with her walk as the ringmaster (if I’m correct :-j) as if the rent's due the next day (one of Mr. Jay's favorite statements).

Yes, she may be young but it's just capital F for Fierce.
